If you have been online recently, you probably have heard the term “glass skin” surfacing on social media. In this article, we will explain how you can get glass skin complexion and hopefully, this routine will help you achieve glass skin in a week.
What is glass skin?
Originated from South Korea, it was originally called “Yuri-Pibu” or 유리 피부 . The popularity has surfaced, especially with brands such as Peach & Lily, creating viral glass skin products such as our beloved Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum. With “Yuri” meaning glass and “Pibu” referring to skin, these words combine to create the word “Glass skin”. This term refers to reaching a desired skin complexion of having a dewy, hydrated glow – as if the skin was a piece of glass. Many Korean idols have glass skin such as Jang Won-Young, Seventeen’s Joshua, and Kim Soo-hyun just to name a few.
How do you get glass skin?
Nowadays, there is no shortage of K-beauty-inspired skincare products in the market that can help nourish, hydrate, and brighten your skin and we will be helping you achieve this today. The step-by-step procedure provided by our Kbeauty experts will allow you to get Korean glass skin in 7 days. Below, are some of our top recommended products for you to achieve success in your skincare journey.
Our top picks:
Best cleanser: Dr Sam’s flawless Water-Based Cleanser
Best exfoliator: Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing PHA Facial Exfoliator
Best Toner: Etude house Soonjung pH 5.5 Relief Toner
Best Serum: Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum
Best moisturizer: Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream
Best Korean sunscreen:Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Sunscreen
Step 1: Double cleansing skin
This is one of the most important steps in the Korean skincare routine. Double cleansing refers to cleaning your face twice – using an oil-based cleanser, followed by a water-based cleanser. The oil-based cleanser aims to remove sebum and other lipophilic impurities, which are soluble in oil. The remaining impurities will let the water-based cleanser do its magic, as they are water-soluble. This is especially helpful in terms of removing surface impurities with traces of sunscreen, and makeup, it will give your face a deep clean.
If you wear heavy makeup, I’d recommend double cleansing every evening, only if you are wearing makeup daily or just so happen to have oily skin. I’d recommend the ordinary squalane oil cleanser, Dr Sam’s flawless Water Based Cleanser. Happy cleaning!

Step 2: Exfoliation
This process is quintessential for removing dead skin cells and improving the growth of the skin barrier. I love using gentle exfoliators with “oil soluble” beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) and “water soluble” Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). BHAs, like Salic acid, clear clogged pores. AHAs, like lactic acid and glycolic acid brighten the skin.
Generally, you should exfoliate 2-3 times weekly to prevent over-exfoliation. Over-exfoliation can have nasty side effects, leading to visible redness and irritation. Excess Alpha hydroxy acids(AHAs) like glycolic acids will remove too many skin cells, making the skin barrier vulnerable and being over sensitive. My top pick would be the Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing PHA Facial Exfoliator, not only is it gentle to my skin, it is also very budget-friendly 🙂
Step 3: Toner
Using a toner,it can balance your natural skin pH, brighten skin tone, reduce pore size, and boost skin hydration, allowing maximum product to be absorbed by the skin.
The application process of toner is easy, you just need to tap it into your skin with a toner pad or fingers and you are good to go. The Etude house Soonjung pH 5.5 Relief Toner will do the job for you, especially since it is made of 97% naturally derived ingredients, which helps my sensitive skin to repair while gaining hydration at the same time. It is the best of both worlds.
Step 4: Serum
A serum is a secret weapon for treating your discolored skin, making you look radiant even if you look tired, and massively brightening your skin’s complexion. To achieve the glass skin look, go for serums rich in hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, antioxidants, and other hydrating ingredient 🙂
By now you have probably already heard of the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum, it contains hyaluronic acid to maximize hydration. It can bring a radiant, luxurious complexion to your skin, creating the well-desired “glass skin effect”. Use the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum in your morning and nighttime routines to maximize results.

Step 5: Sheet mask
I’d indulge in a face mask once in a while to rejuvenate my skin and lock in extra hydration. Most people like integrating a sheet mask into their routine, allowing you to hydrate your skin without extra work. A fan favorite is the Peach and Lily Original Glow Sheet Masks once again, which provides anti-aging and hydrating functions.
Step 6: Moisturizer
This is the last product we use in our skincare. Being the thickest product, it is often applied last to lock in all the moisture. I would recommend the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream
Step 7: Sunscreen
For the final step of our routine, we can’t forget to have sun protection. Most of the visible aging on our skin is caused by the sun’s UV rays. I make sure to wear SPF out of the house daily, even if it’s just for a quick walk.
My current favorite the the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Sunscreen – it is lightweight, quick to absorb, leaving your skin perfectly dewy without any white cast!
Hope you guys enjoy this glass skin routine. Hopefully you guys are certified glass skin experts now and you can get glass skin within a week! Happy skincare!
